Privacy Policy
How Hakika collects, uses and protects personal data.
1. What we collect
To draft: account details; household profile (area, dwelling, household composition); worker profile including identity documents, date of birth and certificate of good conduct; bureau KYC documents; payment records; complaint contents. Be specific — the sensitive categories are the point of this section.
2. Why we collect it, and on what basis
To draft: the lawful basis for each category. Verification documents are the hard case and need advice.
3. Who can see what
To draft: that worker contact details are hidden until a household pays to unlock them; what a bureau can see about its own workers; what is public on a profile; what admins can see. Must match what the platform actually does — the unlock gate is a privacy control, not just a paywall.
4. Sharing with third parties
To draft: payment processing (M-Pesa / Safaricom Daraja), SMS and number masking (Africa's Talking), email delivery, hosting. List processors once the integrations are live.
5. How long we keep it
To draft: retention periods per category, including how long verification documents and complaint records are kept after an account closes.
6. Your rights
To draft: access, correction, deletion, objection, and how to exercise them — with the caveat that some records are kept as evidence for disputes.
7. Security
To draft: how documents are stored and access-controlled.
8. Contact
